1. Lack of Public Engagement: Despite the government's efforts to promote green initiatives, there is a noticeable lack of public engagement and awareness among the Saudi population. Many people are unaware of the importance of sustainability or are hesitant to adopt environmentally friendly practices due to cultural norms or lack of education on the subject.


2. Limited Infrastructure: The infrastructure required to support large-scale green initiatives, such as recycling facilities and renewable energy infrastructure, is still underdeveloped in Saudi Arabia. Without adequate infrastructure in place, it is difficult for the government to effectively implement and monitor green initiatives across the country.


3. Economic Dependence on Oil: Saudi Arabia's economy is heavily reliant on the oil industry, which poses a significant barrier to the widespread adoption of green initiatives. The government faces pressure to prioritize economic growth and stability, which often conflicts with the goals of sustainability and environmental conservation.


Personal Experience: During my time in Saudi Arabia, I observed a lack of recycling facilities and public awareness campaigns about environmental issues. Despite the government's efforts to promote sustainability, many people seemed indifferent or unaware of the importance of protecting the environment. In conclusion, while the Green Initiative in Saudi Arabia is a step in the right direction, it faces significant challenges in achieving its goals due to a lack of public engagement, limited infrastructure, and economic dependence on oil. Addressing these challenges will be crucial for the success of the initiative and the long-term sustainability of the country.
